The Rochester Institute of Technology is proud to host the GEM GRAD Lab! The national GRAD Lab sponsor is 3M.
Join the premiere organization supporting qualified students from underrepresented communities pursuing graduate degrees in applied science and engineering funded by leading corporations, government laboratories, top universities, and top research institutions. Getting Ready for Advanced Degrees (GRAD) Lab offers underrepresented students’ exposure to the benefits of research and technology careers in a highly interactive one-day event.
Event Schedule
Friday, September 20, 2024 | Eastern Time
Come meet and mix with GEM scholars and graduate faculty, staff, and students. This event is informal with brief introductions. Refreshments will be provided.
Saturday, September 21, 2024 | Eastern Time
Students will utilize this time-frame to fill out survey response sheet that was shared prior to the start of the event.

member, the first black IBM fellow; also Cisco VP & Google Director. Kerrie has an
incredible personal story as well. Kerrie realized that education was the way out of the
poverty of his neighborhood and rose to tech and AI leadership rolls despite being from
Chicago’s South Side.
