Benjamin Harvey, Ph.D.

I-Corps Participant Team number 1846

Dr. Harvey holds a B.S. in Pre-Medicine/Computer Science from Mississippi Valley State University, a M.Sc. in Computer Science from BSU, and a Ph.D. from BSU in Computer Science. Dr. Harvey conducted postgraduate research at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST). Dr. Harvey was also a research informatics fellow at the NIH Clinical Center within the Department of Clinical Research Informatics (DCRI). Dr. Harvey worked for over a decade at the Department of Defense (DoD) National Security Agency (NSA) as a software engineer and data scientist. He was the Chief of Operations Data Science where he led a cadre of 40 data scientistsand created the NSA’s Operations Data Science Hub. Dr. Harvey is part-time faculty at George Washington University teaching Big Data Analytics and Data Science courses and currently holds a research faculty position at Johns Hopkins University in the Biostatistics Department. Dr. Harvey served as the I-Corps Entrepreneurial Lead (EL) for Team number 1846.
